International Workshop on Sustainable Chemistry

Today the International Workshop on Sustainable Chemistry officially opens in the Polytechnical University of Cartagena-UPCT. It is the international platform that offers to academic and industrial researchers a privileged environment to exchange on the latest scientific advances in the field of sustainable, green and circular chemistry, to share on tomorrow’s scientific and technological hurdles. Being the promotion of green chemistry one of our strategic pillars, we are actively participating to the discussion, also presenting a new scientific poster about Environmentally friendly alcohol oxidation to aldehydes and improvements for more sustainable chemical processes at industrial scale, published by Derivados Quimicos R&D department.

The oxidation of primary alcohols to aldehydes is a common transformation of functional groups in organic chemistry and our researchers have developed a practical and environmentally friendly oxidation pathway.
